4 Things to know about battery energy storage

1.  Grid-connected solar energy systems provide energy to your home and when your system produces more electricity than you need, excess energy is sent to the grid. When it isn’t producing enough electricity for your needs (such as at night or during “peak” energy usage hours), you must purchase electricity from the grid.

2.  Unless an energy storage system is installed in your home, your solar modules can't supply energy during a power outage because the inverters that control the solar modules are shut down during the outage. This

“shut-down” occurs because it protects utility crews that are deployed to repair the grid. Also, excess energy can’t be sent to the grid during an outage.

3.  Wouldn’t it be great if your solar system could power your home in the early mornings, late afternoons, at night or during a power outage? It can – but to make it happen, you must add a battery energy system. The excess energy generated will charge the battery (or batteries depending on how many you have), and discharge and supply power to your home.

4.  Our battery energy storage provides all the components you need, which generally are reliable and scalable based on your needs. These are not grid-tied and self-generated, enabling you to keep your own power.

Don’t pay more for electricity during peak usage hours or sit in the dark during a grid power outage. Ask us which battery storage is best for your existing or new solar energy system.

Enphase ensemble

Enphase storage is the culmination of years of research, design, development and testing. Distributed architecture with no single point of failure, resistant to extreme temperatures and humidity based on semiconductor technology, passive cooling system with no moving parts – these are just some of the ways Enphase has redefined reliability.

Generac PWRcell

In 2019, Generac acquired battery manufacturer Pika Energy, and has since integrated their technology into the launch of their own Generac-branded home storage solution: the Generac PWRcell. Having long been a leader in the backup power space, Generac is now moving into clean energy and energy storage, with the PWRcell line of batteries at the forefront of their new product fleet.
